| North Cyprus is normally 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT/UTC), and seven hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST). Daylight Savings time is honored in Northern Cyprus. For summer time clocks go forward one hour at 3 am on the last Sunday in March resulting in a 3 hour ahead of GMT. On the last Sunday in October, the clocks go back resulting to the 2 hour ahead of GMT. |

| Coastline |
The beaches of Northern Cyprus are among the cleanest and safest in the Mediterranean. The average water temperature is 24C between May and October. During the summer season Hotel Beaches offer an excellent service to its customers in terms of eating and drinking facilities, not failing to mention the provision of beach umbrellas and beach loungers.
Some of these beaches will also offer activities such as water skiing, banana rides, jet ski, wind surfing and scuba diving. |

| Electricity |
Convenient to the many UK residents and tourists, electricity in Northern Cyprus is 220-240 volts with a 50 Hertz frequency. Electricity costs in North Cyprus are similar to other European countries and you pay monthly or arrange to pay in advance. There are occasional power cuts and some people choose to buy diesel or petrol generators which are available in many stores. The electricity costs 0.106 New Turkish Lira per KW which is the equivalent of 4 pence per KW. (approx. £ 15 monthly per house).
When buying property in North Cyprus, either resale or off plan, you will need to go to the local TRNC electricity board office and complete a contract and pay for connection and supply.
